Server Deployment Services

Setting up your network is one of the biggest IT challenges. It entails providing each computer access to the internet and any local network resources your office requires (e.g. printers, scanners, and servers).

Safe and security should always be at the forefront to protect your business’ network, as cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated with their scripts and methods to hack into a company’s system. Therefore, your network always needs strong defences, setting up a firewall to block malicious traffic and endpoint protection levels.

  • Up-to-date anti-virus/anti-malware software prevents malicious programs from installing on or across your company’s PCs and network.
  • Encryption of your critical data on your system
  • Company-wide employee security training and rollout of robust IT security measures and procedures

Call us to assess whether you have the most up-to-date network security for your business.

What is Server Deployment?

Deploying a server can mean different things, but it typically means putting it into production, providing services as needed, or making it available.

1. Buy server

Each company has unique performance requirements for its servers. How many users do you expect to have? What kind of services do you want to provide? These numbers will help determine your server’s size and hardware. Will your services be CPU, memory, or disk intensive? Understanding your hardware requirements will help you choose the right blend.

2. Install OS

Installing operating system updates fixes possible bugs and security holes. It also cleans up outdated software that may slow down your device. Make sure that your computer, tablet, or mobile phone, uses the latest version of its OS to protect your devices and data from cybersecurity issues.

3. Install applications

Installing applications is also called a “setup program” or “installer.” Your business needs software that prepares an application (software package) to run on the computer. Applications comprise many individual files that are often stored in several levels of folders on the user’s computer unless your application is a single function utility program.

4. Configure network settings (IP address, default gateway, etc.)

Network settings describe wired and wireless connectivity preferences on computers, mobile phones, video game consoles, tablets, and smart devices. When you connect your device to the internet, local or cellular networks require network settings.

5. Patch the server into the LAN switch

Patch panels and Ethernet switches are commonly used to connect all devices in data centers. They are mounted on a server rack to perform the relevant functions. Many people are nervous about installing a patch panel and switch in their telecommunication room and can get overwhelmed with all the cable spaghetti from the patch panel to the switch. MCC Inc helps patch the server into the switches.

6. Create appropriate firewall rules

A firewall plays a critical role in your network security and must be correctly structured to protect your business from data leakage and cyberattacks.

This is possible by configuring domain names, and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to keep the firewall secure. Firewall policy configuration is based on network type, public or private. MCC Inc can set it up with security rules that block or allow access to prevent potential attacks from hackers or malware.

Proper firewall configuration is essential, as default features may not provide maximum protection against a cyberattack.

7. Add server into monitoring and management platforms.

You can add additional servers. Make sure to add servers that were not auto-discovered. To add servers, you can select either manual or automatic detection.

Our Server Deployment Services team will ensure a smooth deployment with an onboarding plan that includes custom-built setups for device management, custom dashboard creation and reports that meet your unique requirements.
